Our goal is to provide a fun and supportive environment for beginners and intermediate players to learn and improve their volleyball skills. Our experienced coaches strive to provide a positive learning environment for our players, where they can grow and build their skills at the pace that best fits their goals.

Meet the Team

  • Andoni Javellanna

    Executive Program Director

    Head Volleyball Coach

    Club Director at Kamikaze Volleyball Club since 2014. Andoni has coached boys and girls in age divisions 11U-18U in both Power and Premier Divisions competing in the NCVA. He has also been the Girls Varsity Volleyball Head Coach at San Mateo High School since 2016. Andoni has been a P.E. teacher in the San Mateo & Foster City School District since 2005, and is currently teaching at Abbott Middle School.

    He has a love for all sports, and enjoys passing on knowledge to the next generation of athletes.

  • Jeff Lamb

    Jeff Lamb is a coach, former athletic administrator and retired teacher for a career that has spanned 46 years, mostly at Milpitas High School. During his tenure, he has coached 80+ different high school seasons, most of them in three sports; Girls Volleyball, Girls Basketball, and Softball. Additionally he has coached 38+ years as the founder, director and head coach for the Milpitas Juniors Volleyball Club. Coach Lamb has provided guidance and support to his student- athletes on and off the court and field of play.

    Coach Lamb has been recognized as the:

    • California CIF Model Volleyball Coach

    • California CIF Distinguished Service Award

    • CCS Distinguished Service Award

    • CCS Honor Coach Volleyball

    • CCS Honor Coach Basketball

    • San Jose Mercury News Volleyball Coach of the Year.

    In his honor, the Central Coast Section created the Jeff Lamb Scholarship, which is awarded each year to student-athletes who have exhibited an interest in becoming a teacher/coach and eventually attain leadership in the Athletic Director role.

  • Marissa Canez

    Program Director - Milpitas

    Head Varsity Volleyball Coach at MHS

    Marissa Canez has been the MHS girls varsity volleyball coach since 2021 and was the JV head coach prior to that, starting in July 2018. She has also played/coached under Jeff Lamb at both MHS and Milpitas Juniors; where her love for coaching began. Summer of 2022, Marissa started coaching at Aloha Boys Volleyball Club; competing at nationals and winning their bracket. She is currently an assistant coach and was promoted to assistant director at Aloha. Coach Canez contributes to her athletes' success on and off the court; being the MHS College & Career Specialist/Community Service Coordinator, she is actively present on campus, providing a safe space to hang out and resources for a variety of topics related to college.

    Coach Canez is a mom of three; with her oldest son currently playing for Aloha as a setter. She loves sports in general and is actively involved; assisting with baseball and softball at MHS too. Coach Canez loves the game of volleyball most - always wanting to learn more and teaching to help others grow.

    Playing Experience

    I was a 3 year varsity player at Milpitas High School where I was a captain my senior year, and voted 1st team all league. I also played college basketball at Ohlone College.

    Coaching experience

    My coaching experience includes 1 year as a girls varsity assistant coach, 1 year boys varsity assistant coach at Milpitas High School, and several summers coaching girls and boys youth basketball. I have trained both boys and girls at the high school and middle school levels.

  • Natasha Lacuzong

    I was on junior varsity my freshman year, varsity my sophomore year. I have been playing club volleyball for 2 seasons at Lakas. I have earned Most Improved Player 2 times over the course of school and club season.

    I am currently in my first year of coaching at Lakas, ages 12U. I have also coached summer elementary clinics and attended high school summer clinics in 2022-2023.

  • Alyssa Maldonado

    During my high school years, I've progressed from one year of freshman level, followed by a year on Junior Varsity, and then two years on Varsity volleyball teams.

    Throughout my Varsity experience, I've been honored with awards for sportsmanship, chosen by my teammates.

    Additionally, I've dedicated two years to club volleyball outside of school.

    Started playing volleyball in Russell Middle School with an undefeated record & a two time champion. That was where I developed the love for volleyball and ended up playing on the first boys varsity volleyball team in Milpitas High School.
